Take Your Family to A Kid-friendly Lantern Festival This Winter

Look no further than the Pomona Fairplex for the best interactive experience!

You know this SoCal mom right here (yes me) is always looking for more photo ops! The holiday season is my favorite time to watch all sorts of light shows and installations. This time I'll be heading to the Hanart Culture's Magical Chinese Lantern Festival in Pomona, CA! This is perfect for you LA mamas who are in between the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley. And, a great event to check out for my Disney AP holders who will be blocked out during the holidays!

The Lantern Festival will return to the Pomona Fairplex November 21st through January 5th with its brand-new illuminated production themed, "Blooming Seasons." This year, Hanart Culture will be bringing us bigger and brighter stunning lanterns, up to 30 feet high--including an 85-foot-wide lantern arch and a 100-yard-long breath taking Ceramic Chinese Garden. George Zhao, producer of the Chinese Lantern Festival says that it will be an experience with "a unique light display inspired by nature." Guests can look forward to seeing exotic flowers, trees, plants, insects, mammals, and reptiles!

Reasons why this is best lantern festival in SoCal to bring the kids:

1. There will be rideable "mythical creatures-inspired" children's rides

2. Kids can take photos with holiday displays such as lantern Santa Claus

3. The Pomona Fairplex is huge and will have access for those with various strollers

4. Tons of food and concessions for the kids to choose from

5. Authentic Chinese folk music and dancing to get the kids into the spirit while learning about a different culture

6. Folk art souvenir booths for you to buy the kids a take-home gift

Chinese lantern making dates back to about 2,000 years ago! It will be a treat for guests to experience a vibrant light show with mixed-media lanterns. Each lantern is made of modern materials, so you can feel good knowing that eco-friendly technology will be used.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate at www.ChineseLanternFestival.com for $13-$27. Gates open from 5:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m. with the last admission at 9:20 p.m. Fairplex parking is $12.
