Kidstock 2019 at Pretend City
A kid-friendly version of Woodstock kicks off the month of April with bubbles, music, and lots of fun.
Kidstock Music & Arts Festival is annually hosted by Irvine's Pretend City Children's Museum. Families who attend get to experience 10 days of music, dance, and art! This past year they had musical acts such as "The Beat Buds." You've probably seen them across cities in So Cal--as they are extremely popular with the parent community. It's always good when a children entertainer is approved by both parents and toddlers! I have been to a show of their's in the past and my kids have their CD as well. They are very good at getting both children and parents to engage in their musical act!
One of the most popular stations at Kidstock was the bubble station provided by OC Bubble Pop. You'll be able to participate in this station for all 10 days of Kidstock! It includes multiple bubble wands for hours of fun. My 4-year-old, Aria, loves bubbles, so we spent a good amount of time at that station. My 18-month-old also enjoyed it very much and loved watching and catching the bubbles float by. You can even see parents picking up wands and reliving their childhood trying to blow the largest bubble and popping them mid-air.
The area where the event takes place is decorated very cute and whimsical-like. You will find tons of ribbons coloring the walls and ceiling. The layout is just like if you were at an outdoor musical festival. The stations were lined up around the room, with a stage for the performances in the front, and lots of tents and make-believe bonfires.
This year, Pretend City had young aerial dancers perform on Saturday, April 6. We were able to catch the show and both my husband and I were in awe of the talent the young girls had. The future is definitely female! I am so proud that we have so many strong girls that my young daughters can look up to. Pretend City does a really good job of having an eclectic line-up.
