A Tribe Who Brunches Together, Stays Together
LAMBT brunched at the newly renovated BJ's Restaurant in Woodland Hills.
The newly renovated BJ's Restaurant and Brewery in Woodland Hills, CA has a trendy and rustic feel--with a fun and casual atmosphere to talk business while brunching with like-minded mamas.
Blogger moms in attendance (from left to right) included: Vanessa Barrios-DeGiacomo from MamaHood Adventures and my fellow co-founder for The Museum Mamas, Roxy Jimenez from Los Angeles Mama Life and owner of Fit4Mom Los Angeles, Shaina Freeman-Gonzalez from Twinthusiastic (Gone with The Twins), Cecily Lewis from Holly Momtress, Erika Cruz Sindhuphak from A So Cal Way of Life, Naza Holliman, me, Becca Schuster from Love Becca, Monica Villa from Monica Plus 2 and co-founder of So Cal Disney Moms, Angelica Gaxiola from The Sweeter Taste of Life and co-founder of So Cal Disney Moms, Shauna Earl from According to Shauna, and Christina Castaneda from The Savvy Creative.
Everybody's been to BJ's at least once, and anyone who has gone here for a meal or drink knows that it's a versatile place to bring friends, family, and associates. We went over relevant blogger topics such as social media strategies, marketing, branding, and an array of business topics. It was a smorgasbord of knowledge and tips! It's honestly so refreshing meeting with friends you can relate to in so many ways. It takes a certain kind of mom to take on the task of blogging while they're out and about with lively children! Not to mention, we all vibed off of each other's enthusiastic energies and easily bounced ideas from each corner of the table. And of course, we bonded further over food and drinks.
Here's the line up of dishes we got to sample, family-style:
The Loaded Nacho with Tri Tip was my favorite appetizer--and if you are a jalapeno fan like me, your taste buds will like these nachos too! It comes served with crispy corn tortilla chips made with their special house-made Sriracha queso topping. The cheese on top is melted jack and cheddar cheese. On the sides, the dish is served with fresh guacamole and fire roasted salsa and pico de gallo to complement the appetizer. And..we can't forget the dollop of sour cream to perfect these nachos.
We were also served the Best Beginners Appetizer Combo which consisted of Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Mozzarella Sticks, Avocado Egg rolls and Boneless Wings. I feel like you can't really go wrong with avocado egg rolls no matter where you order them from. And these egg rolls were held up to that standard as they were also a hit!
The boneless wings we had were Sriracha and Root Beer glazed! They were so delicious, they were the first to be devoured. I definitely recommend getting the combo as an appetizer because it's a good sampler that will please everyone at your table.
Another favorite at our table were the Baby Back Pork Ribs. It is a full rack of slow roasted overnight baby back ribs seasoned with Big Poppa Smokers' Sweet Money Champion rub. It's extremely flavorful because it is slathered with BJ's Peppered BBQ Sauce. You also get a choice of two signature sides. We tried the mashed potatoes and the sweet potato fries..and they did not disappoint!
We also tried the NEW Bistro Burger which was a top food pick for our tribe! It's a Fire grilled beef patty with apple wood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, fresh sweet tomatoes, spinach, and pickled red onions. It's also topped with goat cheese crumbles and roasted garlic aioli served on a Parker House bun with a side of fries.
You can't come to BJ's without trying their beers! I recommend ordering the Taster Set which comes with the following beers: Lightswitch Lager, Blonde Hefeweizen, and the Oasis!
The other ladies from my tribe tried The Sparkling Sangria, Pink Cadillac, and the Strawberry Mojito.
I had the Ultimate Patron Margarita..this one was less slushy and straight to the point! It's got the right amount of punch to relax a busy mama like myself.
We ended our brunch with sampling the kids menu and trying out their healthy options which included broiled shrimp with tons of yummy fruit on the side, low calorie mini corn dogs with cute happy faced potatos. I was impressed with the effort they put into these items and was surprised to see that the shrimp was on the menu! It looked like a nice little side dish for an adult.
We ended our day by taking more pictures at the lovely outside stairs of BJ's. We are absolutely in love with the style, design, and feel of this restaurant. Thank you BJ's for hosting my mama tribe!
